Shen An had the same dream for three days in a row: a wooden bed by the window, a worn sofa, heavy curtains, and a pool of warm blood in the middle of the floor. There were seven pinpoint-sized dark bleeding spots on the lower left side of the center of the pool of blood. They were oozing fresh red every day, but the edges were getting darker. The room dilutes his ideas - every time he tries to pull something off, it slips through his fingers like sand. He used the pain of clenching his teeth as an anchor and forcefully licked the blood. The salty taste of rust penetrated the tip of his tongue. He suddenly opened the curtains, and there was only a locked red brick wall outside, and the windows could not be opened. When he woke up, he was lying on the floor at the other end of the bedroom, vomiting, and what he spit out was the mouthful of blood. The daylight was safe, but his heart was itching like crazy - he had to go back and find the answer: whose blood was it? What's hidden under the sofa? Why is it dusk behind the curtains? That room was waiting for him.
Purpose: The purpose of this article is: Human beings' obsession with the unknown and the truth is an irresistible instinct. Even if the truth is accompanied by fear, pain and the risk of self-destruction, that "itching" desire to explore will eventually overwhelm all attempts to escape. The work explores the confrontation between people and their own subconscious, trauma or some kind of supernatural predicament through Shen An's process of repeatedly entering a dreamland full of blood and strange rules, trying to open the curtain and having his will "diluted" repeatedly. Ultimately, he longs to go back in the safety of daylight, revealing that the temptation to reveal the truth is far more powerful than safety - even if there is only a locked wall behind that window, even if the truth may be his own unhealed wound.
