On the day the school computer room reassigned their accounts, their login information was mixed up by the system. Ruan Suideng couldn't enter his interface, and Jian Xun couldn't open his exclusive folder.
Ruan Sui stood at the management office holding his tablet to check the information.
Jian Xun came in later and heard that the student number she reported overlapped with his own. He raised his eyebrows and glanced at Ruan Sui, then laughed in a low voice. It turns out you are the one who always competes with me for ranking.
Since then, two people from different classes have had silent confrontations all over the campus.
The front and back seats of the examination room, the podium on the left and the right, and the names on the bulletin board are always next to each other.
Ruan Sui pursed his lips every time he saw the list, holding back a surge of energy in his heart, but on his face he pretended not to see Jian Xun.
Jian Xundao always likes to show up at the door of her class on purpose. When Ruan Sui looks up, he slowly says, "This time I am two points behind, and I plan to catch up when."
They will occupy seats in the library at the same time, facing each other across two rows of bookshelves;
We would walk together for a while after the evening self-study. Jian Xun deliberately slowed down his pace and teased Ruan Sui for reciting formulas silently even while walking;
Sitting next to her during competition training, Ruan Sui was silent when answering questions. Seeing that Xun didn't directly remind her, he only faintly threw in a key idea, and she looked instantly annoyed and unable to refute.
No one is willing to show weakness, and there is more competition than intimacy.
But only they themselves know that there is caution hidden in those seemingly casual jokes, and care hidden in those tit-for-tat rivalries.
Everyone else was betting on which one of the top graders would let go first.
—
There was no winner after all.
A disagreement in aspirations, an unspoken anger, and a missed spring.
Names that were once closely adjacent to each other on the same list were eventually scattered in different cities, never having the chance to appear side by side.
What hurts the most is not not being able to love each other, but that we are evenly matched and have the same mind, but we can only be together for a short period of time in our youth...
Then, never again.
I don't see your spring, I forget your spring. But that memory will always be shown in my mind for a while.
—Forget your spring
Intention: Ruan Sui & Jian Xun
