The well-known cartoonist Jiang Tang, whose pen name is Jiang Tang, fell into darkness due to family changes in high school. It was the free and easy freedom of the protagonist Yi Zhi in the novel "The First Branch from the East" that pulled her out of the quagmire. Many years later, she unexpectedly received an invitation to adapt the manga "The First Branch of the East", and in the process unexpectedly met Li Zhi, a professor of history at the university.
During the relationship, Jiang Tang was shocked to realize that Li Zhi was actually Dong Nanzhi, the author she had liked for seven years. The light that supported her through the darkest moments when she was young finally materialized into the gentle and firm person in front of her. She thought this was a one-way redemption, but she didn't know that she was the light that first illuminated Li Zhi - her unintentional kindness in high school once pulled Li Zhi out of the abyss of his life. And the prototype of Yi Zhi was the life goal that Li Zhi set for himself based on her.
This two-way journey spanning seven years hides an unknown tenderness. Back then, she used Yi Zhi's light to get out of the darkness, and now he gets closer to her through comic book collaboration. The two solved their misunderstandings while writing side by side, only to discover that each other had already left an indelible mark on each other's lives.
"It turns out that when I looked at you, you also looked at me."
Intention: "You illuminate my past, and I describe your future."
