"I'm Afraid of Living" is a short narrative work with cruelty as the background and poetry as the edge. It tells the story of a girl who is regarded as a "goddess" and her twelve years of imprisonment in a closed and hypocritical rural society from the time she was selected at the age of six to the "expire" at the age of eighteen, and the only possibility of escape that a young boy bought for her with his life.
Intent: This is a fable about "systematic sacrifice". On the surface, it describes a village, a goddess, and a surrogate man, but in fact it points to all structures that are exploited in the name of holiness - whether it is the sacrifice of women, the alienation of individuals, or the collective silence that condones violence.
