The style is a bit biased towards Europe in the 20th century. The whole book is from a first-person perspective (unacceptable light-heartedness), and is interspersed with the first-person perspectives of supporting characters. The heroine and the hero are both very contradictory individuals. They clearly love each other, but they dare not say it out loud. In the end, it is because of this prejudice and the inherent class gap that it leads to a completely different ending.
Intention: I loved you once, that's enough.
