The story of Ni Yun and Song Ye begins in the midsummer of junior high school when cicadas are noisy. Accompanying each other day and night, tacit understanding grows day and night, and heartbeats quietly take root in each other's eyes. They are the most special existence in each other's youth. Their thoughts are unspoken, and their feelings are secretly flowing, thinking that this pure joy can withstand the long years.
Later, due to family changes, the two separated in high school, and they were far apart and no longer interacted with each other. Ni Yun clung to the memories of the past and kept her love deep in her heart, never diminishing by half. She thought that as long as she waited, she would always be able to wait until the day they meet again and the moment when her heart is responded to.
But time is cruel after all. The contradictions and estrangements during the reunion broke away the tenderness of youth little by little. Song Ye let go of the past, let go of her, turned around and rushed to a new life to stay with others and start a family.
Those unspoken likes and those obsessions hidden in the heart eventually became the past events of Ni Yun alone. Youth ended and love disappeared. She guarded a heartbeat that no one knew about and watched the young man she once was disappear completely for the rest of her life.
Purpose: To explore the normal life of obsession and regret, encounters and misses.
Not all heartbeats can be fulfilled, and not all waiting has its way back. Some people are destined to accompany you only for a while, and some love will eventually be hidden in the years. The story finally ends with: accepting the impermanence of the world, accepting the failure of love, and completing a person's growth and reconciliation amidst the regret of holding on alone.
