The plaque of the Four Archways
The eight characters "Shen Ping Tong Di Humanity Shuo Jin" are now on the second plaque on the east side of the Fourth Archway in Xinghua. Examine its meaning:
"Shen Ping" is Bo Cong's late name, which means having a thorough understanding of worldly affairs and a peaceful place.
Those with "Tong" are the lucky ones to get married, and Su's adopted daughter's name is "Tong", which coincides with marriage.
Those who are "humane" stand up for themselves and follow their own path.
"Sparkling gold" refers to the saying in Guoyu that "people's minds make a city, and their voices make gold", which means that their virtues can withstand the criticism of everyone.
To sum it up: Zhao Gong used the spirit of peace, ascended to the honor of the same rank, practiced the golden way of humanity, and was sincere enough to be a law for thousands of years.
