Historical context: Place the fictional characters in the real historical background of the Southern Song Dynasty (Qin Hui's dictatorship, Yellow River floods, institutionalization of city gods, etc.) To enhance the sense of reality
Character arc: Design Zhao Yunming's complete growth trajectory from a poor student to a capable flood control minister, to sacrificing his life for righteousness, and finally becoming a god.
Core conflict:
Man and nature (conflict between water management concepts and traditional concepts)
Ideals and Reality (reforms involve the struggle of interest groups)
Life and death (the dialectic between physical death and spiritual eternity)
Myth construction: Adopt the progressive path of "consecration of gods", through spontaneous sacrifices by the people → formal conferment by the court → multiple manifestations and verifications, to form a reasonable process of deification.
Local elements: In-depth integration of the real geography (Mulan River, Mulan Pi), historical figures (Qian Siniang) and folk beliefs of Xinghua area in Fujian
Deepening of the theme: Through Zhao Yunming's process of "turning from man to god", we will explore the cultural psychology of "merits and virtues becoming gods" in traditional Chinese culture, as well as the social roots of the belief in upright officials.
Ps: This is my first time writing about Xinghua. Because of my first attempt, I set the location in Xinghua, Fujian. The actual story should be written about Zhaoyang Xinghua.
Purpose: Deeply cultivate the hometown and find memories
