A Letter to Fellow Monsters

Wan Li hasn't read many books. She's a hunter. Her daily routine is killing monsters, getting a few minor injuries, then crawling back into her little iron bunk for a makeshift nap. Day after day, until she was parasitized by a monster of unknown origin. From then on, Wan Li was placed on the high-priority watch list and branded a dangerous person. At nineteen, she got a shiny new pair of silver bracelets. Oh, and she also picked up a foreign language: Monster. “So that's what it is. Their mouths were full of lofty ideals, but all they cared about was business. What could an honest country girl like Wan Li, from a fishing village, possibly know about any of that? If they paid her, she pocketed the money. If they dangled a promise, she took the bait. As for all the things those people later shouted at her, like “traitor to civilization,” “enemy of humanity,” and “inhuman heretic”... Wan Li couldn't even be bothered to raise an eyelid. “I don't understand.
