Cave 127 in Maiji Mountain was built for Emperor Wen of the Western Wei Dynasty and Empress Yi Fu. The exquisite murals and brilliant sculptures throughout the cave seem to mourn the early death of the queen. But people seem to have long forgotten that she and Emperor Wen's young couple were eventually abandoned; she did not believe in gods and Buddhas, but after her death, she was enshrined in a shrine full of Maitreya. Her youth and love were wasted little by little in Chang'an and Qinzhou.

The soft silk brocade covered her cheeks, and the smoothness and delicacy she coveted in the past had now become a fetter that threatened her life. The tears on her face wetted the fabric, making it even harder for her to breathe.

But where is that young man now? Oh, the Chief Minister just came this morning with his order to claim his life. What else? She can't remember...
After a while, the Palace Attendant walked into the hall, lifted up the wet quilt covering her face, put her hand under her nose to breathe, and shouted: "The deposed Empress Yi Fu's collapse——!" The long voice was filled with false sadness, which was extremely funny.
