Realist literature. Shou is a Kazakh boy and Gong is Han. The two met in college, and under Gong's meticulous care, they developed a liking for him that was different from others. The latter two fell in love, but due to the incomprehension of the secular society, Shou committed suicide by jumping into the river, leaving Gong to stay in his hometown.
