The naughty and cowardly little monk × the hard-spoken and soft-hearted old Fahai
The little monk knew since he was a child that he was picked up from the river by his master.
It's just that old bald donkey Fahai, who said "monastics don't tell lies", secretly made up lies one after another: sometimes he said he was picked up by a wild crane, sometimes he said he floated from the toilet, and the most egregious one said he was given rice by a rice shop.
The young monk also didn't believe those legends - about Fahai beating the mandarin ducks with a stick, breaking up Xu Xian and White Snake, and about the thousand-year-old snake demon being suppressed under the Leifeng Pagoda. He felt that the master was just a poor and verbose old man who had no ability other than chanting sutras and beating him.
Until one day, a green snake got into his dream.
She said: You are not from this world.
She said: Leifeng Pagoda has always been there.
She also said: The crying you hear every night is your mother waiting for you to come home.
After waking up from his dream, the little monk glanced out the window.
The master was standing in the courtyard, and the vein in his right eye jumped.
Then he suddenly remembered what his master had said——
"Are you really sure that there is no hand behind your back?"
Intention: A farewell, three thousand worlds, there is someone waiting for you at the top of Chang'an City.
