Wei Qing, courtesy name Zhongqing, was born in Pingyang, Hedong. At first, he was a riding slave in Princess Pingyang's mansion. He was of low status and lowly in life, so he could not speak out. Later, his sister Wei Zifu came to the palace to accompany him, and Qing also had to accompany the emperor. He had a deep and taciturn temperament, and was respectful and respectful in his actions. He gradually became valued by Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty.
When the Xiongnu repeatedly invaded the northern frontier and the war raged, the Han family tolerated it for several generations and wanted to raise their eyebrows. Wei Qing, riding as a slave, paid homage to the general and went out to fight. His troops came out of the upper valley and marched straight into Longcheng. He beheaded hundreds of enemies, shattering the myth of the Xiongnu's invincibility. The battle became famous all over the world.
In the following years, he regained Hetao, expanded the territory thousands of miles away, and established Shuofang County. He attacked King Youxian at night, which shocked Mobei, and captured tens of millions of people. His achievements were greater than those of the three armies. Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty worshiped him as a general in the army, and all generals were restrained and treated with the utmost honor and favor.
Qing's troops are as stable as Mount Tai, as dynamic as wind and thunder, good at driving and attacking at long ranges, and good at forming formations and standing firm, sharing the joys and sorrows with the soldiers, so the generals are happy to die for them. He attacked the Xiongnu seven times in his life, winning every battle. He conquered Henan, settled the northern border, and shocked Shanyu. In the end, there was no royal court in Monan, and the Han border was peaceful for a hundred years.
Later, he and Huo Qubing worshiped the Grand Sima together. They had power in the government and the public, but they always retreated modestly and remained self-reliant. They did not form factions, do not seek meritorious service, and did not seize power. Although they were extremely popular ministers, they did not change their original intentions. In his later years, Princess Shang Pingyang, the son of Chen Mo, eventually became the minister of Zhu Shi.
In the fifth year of Yuanfeng's reign, he died, and his posthumous title was "Li". Emperor Wu built a tomb for him, which resembles the shape of Yinshan Mountain, to commemorate his eternal achievements in sweeping away the Xiongnu and pacifying the Han Dynasty.
He was born in a humble family, but he eventually became a famous general; his achievements were unparalleled, but he still started well and ended well.
After thousands of years, the character of the general can still be seen.
Purpose: He used his life to prove that one's origin can never determine one's destiny, only one's character can establish the world.
