Where Does the Tide Come From?

Ten years ago, two girls met at a cultural relic restoration summer camp by the West Lake in Hangzhou. Shen Nianchao is taciturn, with a sea hidden in his heart; Lu Sheng has dimples when he smiles, saying that he is "like bronze, which rings when knocked, and is still rusty." They talked all night beside the broken lotus and made an appointment to "see each other again in the future" under the moonlight. The legacy of Yan Rui, a female poet from the Song Dynasty, required the cooperation of top restorers from the north and south. Shen Nianchao, a calligraphy and painting restorer from the Forbidden City, is known as "Tide" in the industry. Lu Sheng, a Shanghai-based bronze restoration expert, was the girl who loved to smile back then. Now she is standing on the stage wearing a moon-white shirt. After ten years of separation, we met again as work partners. On the restoration stage, they faced together thousands of years of cultural relics - calligraphy and painting, bronze inscriptions. In the workroom, they were forced to face the unfinished past - the "Selected Song Poems" that had been revised for ten years, and the farewell that was too late to explain. "You can repair a thousand-year painting, but you can't repair a ten-year misunderstanding?" This is a two-way journey spanning ten years, and it is also the story of two restorers spending the rest of their lives repairing each other.
