The incense in Shen's ancestral hall has been burning for three hundred years, and the girl named "Youfu" has been imprisoned for more than ten years. She is the sacrificial child appointed by the ancestral temple, and is a living sacrifice used by the whole clan in exchange for good fortune - just because she is a woman, she is despised as a "sacrificial object".
The windowless side hall, shaved black hair, and plain robes all year round are her prison; freezing, starving, punishing, and chanting sutras all night long are her daily life. Her grandma taught her: "The more pain you have, the better your clan will be; the more suffering you have, the better your family will be." She gradually forgot that she was a living person first, and then the sacrificial son who bore the suffering for the clan members.
It wasn't until the day of the family banquet that she was pushed onto the high platform. Under the expectant eyes of the whole hospital, she finally broke free of her shackles and hoarsely shouted out the desire hidden in her bones and blood: "I don't want to be a blessing, I want to be a human being."
When the whole place was completely silent, a black figure came through the light, becoming the only light she had never expected in her dark destiny. This is the story of a woman who was underestimated and struggled to regain herself and dignity in the fate of sacrifice.
Purpose: To criticize the belittling and objectification of women by feudal clans, to praise the awakening and struggle of people in desperate situations for their self-worth and personal dignity, and to convey the idea that "regardless of gender and identity, everyone has the right to be a human being."
