Synopsis
In the spring of 1937, Isolated Island in Shanghai. She is Shen Shuhe, the daughter of a comprador from Yong'an Matheson Company, a socialite in Shanghai, and a talented woman whose romance was written about in the supplement of Shenbao. No one knew that this delicate body wrapped in cheongsam hid a secret lifeline that transported Western medicine and gasoline to the anti-war forces. He is Cheng Mianzhai, Director Hua of the French Concession Public Affairs Bureau, and a leader of the Qinggang "Tong" generation. From the young boy carrying bags at Shiliupu Pier to fighting for the black and white, he believes in the rules of survival in troubled times: Only when you are alive can you be qualified to talk about other things. Never contaminating the population with opium was his final bottom line. At a charity ball, he saw through the edge of her gentleness, and she glimpsed the sobriety in his coldness. When her supplies were detained at the dock and she went to the meeting alone, he challenged her with billiards, but she narrowly won - the goods were released, but the tangle began. Caught between the iron hooves of the Japanese army, strife among traitors, and infighting among gangs, they used each other, tested each other, and attracted each other. He couldn't agree with her for dying for a "nihilistic country", and she despised him for being a "business woman who didn't know the hatred of losing her country". Until her line of communication is exposed and No. 76'S bloody mouth opens, he faces the ultimate choice: keep the foundation he has worked for for twenty years, or risk all his wealth to save a woman who is determined to "destroy" his stability? This is not the love of two people. This is a violent tear between ethics (responsibility to the family), faith (the righteousness of the family and the country) and instinct (the desire to live) under the crushing influence of the times. Every time they get close, it's a wound close to a wound; every time they separate, it's a preparation for the next more tragic reunion. In the fallen city, they believed in each other. Purpose: To redefine love and loyalty on the blade of national justice - personal love can be integrated into the blood of the family and the country, and become the light of faith for each other and the times in the darkest moments.
