When Jiang Yanqing was six years old, she was fostered in the Shen family for a month.
That month, he had a younger brother - four-year-old Shen Zhiyao, who was soft, cried a lot, wouldn't eat egg yolks, and would crawl into his bed whenever there was thunder. He built blocks with him, told him stories, and taught him how to play "Little Star."
Later, something unexpected happened to the Jiang family, and Jiang Yanqing was sent away. He looked back and saw a small figure running after the car. He fell down and got up and continued running, running farther and farther, and finally disappeared at the end of the road.
Twelve years later, Jiang Yanqing returned to the Shen family as a "substitute" - he looked very much like Shen Zhiyao's brother who disappeared early in his life.
Shen Zhiyao looked at him with cold eyes, like a stranger.
But the next morning, there was a carton of milk at his door with a note on it:
"If you don't want to eat the egg yolk, you can give it to me."
Jiang Yanqing didn't know that that person's diary had been written for twelve years.
Every page begins with "Brother."
"My brother left today. Mom said he would never come back. I don't believe it."
"I learned a new song today. I want to play it to my brother. He's not here."
"I am ten years old today. It has been ten years. Why hasn't my brother come back yet?"
"I went to the park again today. The slide was still there. I went on it alone. It wasn't fun."
"A man came to the house today. He looks like you. Mom said it's just a resemblance. But I think it's him."

This is a story about waiting and returning.
Four thousand three hundred and eighty days, waiting for someone to come home.
