Ember Spirit was born with yin and yang eyes, and could see the pain-eating beasts that feed on human pain, so he was treated as an alien since he was a child.
Until he met Chen Ying, the pain-eating beast king, who only guarded him and silently ate all his pain and fear.
They are the last existences in the world that should not be close to each other, but they embrace the same sin in the darkness and redeem each other.
But when the pain-eating beast eats pain, it eats life.
The more pain the dust eats, the thinner the ember spirit's soul becomes.
In the end, the ember spirit dissipates, and Chen Ying guards the void. For eternity, there is no one to protect him, and there is no more pain to eat.
