The gods enrich themselves by harvesting people's beliefs, and the kindness and sacrifice of mortals have become sins that "shake the foundation." The real "immortal" is not in the organization of heaven, but in the kindness and protection of people's hearts. Hu Buzhe finally chose to give up the immortal position that was easily available to him, and returned the proceeds of corruption to the people, completing a disenchantment and reestablishment of "what is the right way": not being in the immortal class is the right way, but sticking to one's heart and seeking justice for those he cares about is his own "way".
