"When we are all free, we will go to the south. It is not cold there in winter. I will paint and you will be your barrister."
"Okay."
Lin Mu, the monitor of the art class, lives by working on his own. Chen Yu, a top student in science, comes from a privileged family, and his parents have planned everything for him. They shouldn't have crossed paths. It wasn't until the fall of his second year of high school that Chen Yu went to the studio to deliver the registration form. When he opened the door, he saw Lin Mu lying on the table and asleep, with paint on his face. He stood there and looked at it for a long time.
Later there was a loft. He hid there when he was skipping class, doing homework and drawing. Chen Yu helped him make up lessons and stuffed his notes into his painting bag. During his sleepless nights, Lin Mu hung the painting downstairs of his house - next to the painting was written: Don't be afraid, if you don't do well in the exam, I will support you.
They agreed to graduate and go to the south.
In the summer when Chen Yu was sent to Qingbei, his family moved away and his mobile phone was confiscated. Didn't break up, just disappeared.
Many years later, Lin Mu worked in a cafe in the south. The door opened and the person who came in was wearing a suit.
"Long time no see."
The coffee is cold. When Chen Yu left, he paused at the door and did not look back.
That night Lin Mu dug out the paintings in the attic - Chen Yu was sleeping on his stomach, Chen Yu frowned, Chen Yu smiled and said, "Wait for me for a year." All seventeen years old.
He looked at the painting and smiled. Smiling and laughing, tears fell down.
A few more years. The phone rang.
"It's me. Can we meet?"
He looked at the yellowed note - the test points that Chen Yu helped him organize.
"Forget it."
He drank a lot that night. I woke up with that note in my hand. The rain stopped.
He is still a human being.

Later I often thought of that attic.
Now I'm in the south. It's not cold here.
Is it snowing where you are?
Calm, restrained, aggressive & patient, stubborn and receptive
Intention: I once promised the south, but never arrived.
