The gloomy, cold, crippled general
Shen Yanzhu was born without love.
He understands the joys and sorrows of others, but cannot feel them. It didn't matter to him that he was not favored in the Shen family and was raised as a superfluous person - everything was quiet anyway.
Later, in order to please the royal family, the Shen family disguised him as a woman and married Pei Heng, the legendary crippled and ruthless general.
Pei Heng had been fighting for twenty years. He had a broken arm, a lame leg, and a scar on his face. He was forgotten in the rain in the south of the Yangtze River. He thought that the emperor's gift of marriage was the last act of dignity, but he didn't expect that the person he was sending was a man - the bastard of his enemy.
He smashed things, cursed people, and directed all his resentment at this quiet man.
Shen Yanzhu just looked at him and asked, "Do you want a drink of water?"
Later, it rained heavily in Jiangnan. Every rainy day, Pei Heng's old injuries hurt so much that he felt worse than death. Shen Yanzhu was sitting next to his bed, chattering about some gossipy things in the market - about children grabbing candied haws, about awning boats by the river, and about newly made up stories in teahouses.
Pei Heng was initially dissatisfied with the noise, but later found that the sounds could cover up the pain.
Later, he got used to waiting for that sound to sound on rainy nights.
A person who cannot feel love, and a person who feels that he does not deserve to be loved.
In the rain in the south of the Yangtze River, they became each other's only sunny day.
Intention: Love is not a talent, it is a skill that is learned slowly.
