Bologna, the ancient book district, is a place where scholars love.
This is a story about two girls with secrets who live together in Bologna, a gloomy genius direct doctor (and gunman) x a mysterious and gentle psychic, a little crow and an owl.
Zhang Zhou's new roommate is Zhao Ming, the youngest direct PhD student in the Department of Classics, nicknamed "that little crow". She is smart, gloomy, quiet, and lives by taking exams for others. Her sources of income include but are not limited to: Latin certificate, construction mechanics report, calculus, actuary qualification certificate, and Curtius research. He only gives a brief "tsk" to things he doesn't like. There is only one known rule of life: if you see a rat again in a public area, kill it.
And Zhang Zhou's secret is even stranger - she can hear the voices of dead people. Her name is "Day", but she always appears at night. During the day, she works as a librarian in the ancient books area of the University of Bologna. She hums songs every day, organizes the bookshelves, handles ancient books, and teases the fried crows who come to the library. No one knows where she goes at night. Only the dead in the cemetery know that there is a Chinese girl who can hear them cursing, crying, and stealing those last words. She takes orders from living people and delivers messages to them. She charges but does not intervene or judge, she just relays.
On the first day, Zhao Ming found Zhang Zhou's hamster in the public kitchen and let out a short scream.
"I heard a crow crow." Zhang Zhou said, "So that's how it crows."
On the Nth day, Zhang Zhou opened the dormitory door late at night and saw Zhao Ming leaning on the door frame and looking at her. That playful look said: So you are a bit interesting.
The little crow smelled grave soil and myrrh.
