In September of the year he was seventeen, Ji Xulian had a brother.
Zhu Suxian was led in. The body smells of disinfectant that cannot be washed away, the fingers shake uncontrollably, and there are old and new red marks always hidden on the inside of the wrist. When he looked at people, his eyes were empty, like lake water in December - so empty that every time Ji Xulian passed by his door, he would stop and listen to make sure there was still breathing inside.
Ji Xulian didn't know what he was listening to.
It was only from the third night that he learned to identify the warm yellow light from the crack in the ajar door. But every night when he couldn't sleep, he would count the footsteps next door and the three colors of the medicine he took - white like morning clouds, blue like the afternoon sky, and pink like the evening glow. He sometimes thought that Zhu Suxian swallowed three pieces of sky every day.
There is a silver chain around Zhu Suxian's neck, which hangs down and falls just in the clavicle - that position is where the raindrops dropped when they first met. His mother's handwriting was engraved on the inside of the chain, and he never let anyone touch it.
But every time Ji Xulian saw it, he would take a second look.
Later, Zhu Suxian stopped picking it. You can see it if you want to.
——What is a silver chain?
You will find it when you can't see it, and you will feel at ease when you touch it.

"Ji Xuxian is my silver chain."
On the last page of the book, someone wrote this line.
The handwriting is very light, as if it has been written for a long time.
A long time later, there was another line below that line of words, the handwriting was ugly and crazy:
"Me too."
