The convenience store was dimly lit on a rainy night. I clutched the thin medical certificate and agreed to his deal - to be another person's shadow in exchange for a chance to save my life. He gave me a cold apartment, with a white dress and light fragrance. All the details replicated a non-existent person. His eyes were always separated by a layer of fog, and his tenderness could not fall on me, like the neon outside the window that could never penetrate. Later, the engaged woman came to see me, and he told me in front of me that I was just a substitute who could be discarded at any time. The rain started to fall again, so I took off my white skirt, lit the cigarette I had hidden for many years, hid the paintbrush in my palm, and worked my way up from a low-level assistant to a top designer step by step. When Neon reunited, he expressed his difficulties with red eyes, but those years of being let down and the sincerity that was despised had already cooled down in the rainy night. I raised the invisible trophy, holding a cigarette between my fingertips and chuckled: "You can't afford my current worth."
Purpose: The work mainly expresses the idea of women awakening from difficulties, realizing independent value through self-struggle, refusing to be attached to others, and finally finding themselves and warmth.
