This was said by a tourist Fang Gumo met by chance when he was in Lhasa.
He was convinced.
Otherwise, why would he fall in love with He Lan?

He fled from Guangzhou to Chengdu, and then hid in Tibet from Chengdu.
When the man in the co-pilot asked him about the purpose of traveling to Tibet, he heard himself say:
