One ordinary night, I became a client of a memory restorer.
He said it could erase all the pain I had suffered for twenty-three years.
The price is - every time a piece of pain is erased, the only remaining happiness connected to it is lost.
The best deal in the world, I found it.
At first I just thought it was a transaction with the past,
Little did I know that within the high wall, there was someone who spent half his life atone for his sins and paved the way for me to live a new life.
By erasing the shame of being the daughter of a criminal, I lost the few happiness I had.
Life was finally peaceful, so normal it was almost luxurious.
My mother is gradually waking up, and her life seems to be finally on the right track.
Sunshine and the future are within reach for the first time.
I thought my life could be rewritten.
Until I opened the book of memories and saw my mother's diary that she had never shown:
"I hate that she has the same eyes as his father's."
"I'm a bad person, but I can't stop."
And the memory restorer told me that the person who entrusted him——
It's my father who is still in prison and has three years left to serve.
When the truth came out, I still couldn't easily forgive the man who brought me ups and downs and life.
But then my mother started to live a good life, had a normal relationship, would cook for me when I came home, and would plan a wedding for me.
I was holding my new household registration book with my name changed. The sun was shining brightly that day.
I forgave everyone, including him who was behind the wall and whom I had never met.
I promised to give him a hug when he was released from prison.
I thought that all these years of suffering were finally over.
If this is the price of getting love, then please be happy for me for the rest of your life.
Everything was too good to be true, and happiness was finally willing to look down at me.
But just before the engagement, I died.
