The background is the Loulan Kingdom around BC, which may have historical implications but is purely fictional.
It tells the story of a palace geisha with a high ambition to save Loulan from destruction. She controlled the political situation with the help of her sister who was the queen and some nobles, but ended up ruining Loulan.
