Mirs Bay has no tide line and the waves never stop. I thought my life would always be so peaceful. That night, I knocked over his wine glass and shattered my own routine.
For the first time, I cried like a child who couldn't find a home to someone I had known for less than a few hours.
He said: "Don't be a slave to your emotions... Just think of it as a child's behavior." I laughed heartily, a kind of identity-subverting pleasure. On the beach late at night, he pointed to the cliff in the distance: "There is no tide line in Dapeng Bay, so there is not enough tide to support the surfboard, so you can't surf the waves in the first place, so there is no need to regret it."
But I later learned that regret is the most turbulent undercurrent in life.
He said: "We face it together." But when the huge waves of reality hit us, we all overestimated the buoyancy of love.
If the story is destined to have no tide line and cannot rely on the power of nature to get closer or farther away, then how can two scarred people swim through this vast world to reach each other's shore? Or is it that some encounters are just to leave a damp crease in the heart that can never be healed?
