In 1949, at Anling Pier, she was separated from her husband who had fled to Taiwan to find her lost son. In the next forty years, she experienced the loss of her son, criticism and poverty, and persisted with only letters and faith. When the two sides of the Taiwan Strait got through the sound of communication, they met again, but they were already confused about life and death.
