The main story takes place from 1928 to 1933, and the important characters are all spies. The "Special Section" in [Prelude] refers to the Central Special Section led by Premier Zhou Enlai. The Special Section is divided into four parts: Special Section 1 (General Affairs Section), Special Section 2 (Intelligence Section), Special Section 3 (Operations Section), and Special Section 4 (Transportation Section). Organizations with the same nature as this include the Secret Investigation Team of the Military Commission and the Fuxing Society Secret Service mentioned below (both were the predecessors of the Secret Bureau of the Ministry of National Defense under the old Chiang Kai-shek government). In fact, I originally wanted to write about Wang Puppet No. 76, But that was after 1937. In order to prevent Tencent from harmonizing, the two parties in the full text (you should know which two they are) are represented by letters - GCCP and GMKMT. The first two letters are pinyin abbreviations, and the following letters are English abbreviations.
There is not a lot of politics involved, politics is just the general background of the development of things and the characters' hearts. In a sense, this novel is cold, and I don't expect anyone to feel warm after reading it. For various reasons, deception, concealment, coincidence, miss, identity, family, betrayal and other tangled elements, even if it is not a tragedy, it cannot be regarded as a comedy.
