A hundred years ago, the devil wanted to seize the body of monk Li Yuanzhou in order to deceive heaven and prove immortality.
Eighty-one monks joined forces to kill the demon, but Li Yuanzhou's junior brother Tan Yousheng knelt down and begged for mercy - if he killed the demon king, his soul would be gone. At the cost of eternal life, he made a blood oath with heaven and earth: to seal the Demon King underground, and he would be a keeper of the seal for generations to come.
After that battle, Tan killed all the remnants of the demon king alive, restored peace to the world, completed his merits, and ascended to immortality.
