Also known as "Me and My Disappearing Tenant"
Micro-suspense | Memory mystery | Twin bonds | BE short stories | Narcissus
The text is in third person! !
There was another person living in my body.
——Until I dug out a diary full of conversations in the wall of my old house.
The neat handwriting is mine, but whose scrawled handwriting next to it belongs to me?
The diary records that "we" went to school together, skipped classes, and fought against the world, as close as two shadows of one person.
But I have no memory of all this.
My parents said I thought too much, and my friends hesitated to speak.
Only on the last page of the diary, the strange handwriting left a line:
"If one day you can't see me anymore, go to the old place, under the ginkgo tree, seven steps east."
I went.
Dig up a key, and a letter.
The letter said: "The cabinet contains everything you want to know - about who I am, about us, about why we separated."
Now, I hold this key and stand in front of locker No. 217 At the old train station.
I don't know what's hidden inside.
I don't know what happened four years ago.
I don't know even more - when the cupboard door opens, what I am looking for is a disappeared "tenant", or... A life forgotten by my own hands.
"What I love deeply is the stranger who lives in my body."
