Synopsis
In the winter of 2018, there was heavy snow in Nanjing. Interpol Guan Tong pushed open the door of the hotpot restaurant and saw designer Chen Huai by the window for the first time. Many nights later, when Guan Tong took a detour to the studio after finishing his mission, Chen Huai waited at the door of the police station until dusk fell. They walked side by side through the snowy streets, their footsteps creaking. Until that winter night when the street lights dimmed, they hugged for the first time in the light. The parting was unexpected. Guan Tong went to another place, but his return date was unknown. Four years have passed like snow falling silently. Chen Huai rose to prominence in the design world, but he maintained his previous trajectory: his room was clean and empty, he ate hot pot alone, and watched Qin Huai covered with snow at the end of the year. In 2026, heavy snow will come again. In the exhibition hall, Chen Huai turned around and saw Guan Tong at the door. New snow falls on the shoulders, and frost is added to the temples. His eyes crossed the four-year gap and landed firmly on him. The hustle and bustle faded away, leaving only the sound of snow falling in the world - falling on the glass, falling on the top of the mountain, and also falling on the frozen past that had been paved between them for four years. Time is like a heavy snow that comes and goes, covering everything and letting the temperature pass. But always when the new snow first falls, the deeply buried outline is revealed again. Like an old friend returning from walking in the snow. Like the years of hypothermia, I finally waited for the sound of breaking the ice. Concept: "Hyperthermia" tells the story of a winter reunion spanning four years between detective Guan Tong and designer Chen Huai. The story uses "snow" as its context, describing how time covers traces and cools down the temperature, but also buries deep outlines. They were close in the snowy night, separated in the wind and snow, and finally met again in another heavy snow - not to erase the years, but to hear the sound of breaking ice in the frozen past. Through restrained brushstrokes and delicate metaphors, the work explores the silent but tenacious emotional connection between waiting, loneliness and reunion, and expresses the deep theme of "time may make everything cool, but what is truly important will always be revealed again when the snow falls."
