Introduction
The lights of the bar were dim late at night, and Lu Jianxing huddled in a booth in the corner, his fingertips unconsciously rubbing the edge of the wine glass. She shouldn't have come - such noisy occasions never belonged to her. But her best friend Lin Xiafei dragged her to "see the world", but ended up sneaking off to the dance floor, leaving her alone to be approached by strangers.
"Alone?" A deep male voice came from above.
She looked up and met a pair of peach blossom eyes that seemed to be smiling but not smiling. The man was wearing a suit and tie, but his tie was loose, like an elite scum who had just escaped from a business banquet.
"Chen Ting Yan." He sat down and brought over a glass of lemonade, "Your wine was spiked with something."
Lu Jianxing was stunned, and belatedly realized that his vision began to blur.
Later she found out that this man was a bar owner and a capital trader who was rumored to be ruthless. And his reason for saving her was extremely ridiculous——
"You look like my lost cat."
Destiny has since derailed. What she didn't know was that behind this "accidental encounter" was his long-planned trap.
Intention: To the wandering stars
When writing this story, I often think of the goddesses of fate in Norse mythology - they always love to tie knots when spinning, forcibly entangling unrelated lives. Lu Jianxing and Shen Tingye are like this: one is a prisoner who is forced to predict the future, and the other is a monster whose genetic puzzle is incomplete.
But what really moved me was their tenderness in despair. Just like Shen Tingye, even if she turns into a beast and loses control, she will still remember to wrap her tail around Lu Jianxing's waist to prevent her from falling; just like Lu Jianxing can predict all tragedies, but still chooses to look for the one in ten thousand possibility of reunion in every time and space jump.
Perhaps love is essentially a gamble. Bet that the other person will kiss you back when they are dripping with blood. Bet that there is always a lighthouse in the vast universe that lights up for the lost.
I would like to dedicate this article to all those who still believe in starlight in the dark night.
