Social fear composer Shen Tinglan has a secret: the BGM of idol dramas automatically plays in her mind to escape reality. During the day, she is a doctoral student studying "academic composition"; at night, she is an "Insomnia Radio" anonymously composing "applied soundtracks". When she was forced to score the music for "Paranoia Agent", which deconstructed the idol drama, and met Chen Yimo, a vicious-tongued producer and has-been male protagonist, all the BGM began to malfunction. On one side is the expectation of an academic family, on the other side is the call of creative instinct; on the other side is the PTSD left behind by two failed relationships, and on the other side is Chen Yimo's sincerity at every step. In this cross-border adventure about music, love and self-definition, she must learn to turn off other people's background sounds and compose her own, imperfect but true theme song.
Purpose: To explore the emotional patterns and self-perception of the post-90s generation under the influence of idol drama culture. Through the growth story of a woman, it shows how to go from relying on external emotional scripts to listening to the true inner voice. The work deconstructs romantic fantasy, embraces the complexity of reality, and ultimately conveys the core value of "real growth is to become the composer of one's own life."
