"Three Stars Down" is a novel that delicately explores the boundaries between love and responsibility, desire and sacrifice. The story revolves around Cheng Junning, Xia Menglan, and Long Luoluo: During the seven years when her husband Cheng Junning took good care of his gentle and tenacious wife Menglan, who was seriously ill, he developed a secret emotional connection with Luo Luo, a sensitive and independent fashion designer who had suffered from depression. When this tacit understanding was noticed by Meng Lan on the sickbed, she did not tear up or condemn her, but wrote a letter with astonishing sobriety, returning the right to choose to her husband. This move became the core turning point of the story, and also kicked off a deep torture about love and marriage, moral dilemmas and soul freedom.
