The wind from the plains of eastern Henan blew through the wheat fields and into the classrooms of Pingyu Town Central Primary School.
When Shengxia first stepped into this "giant school" covering an area of 32 acres and housing nearly 500 left-behind children, she thought she was only here to teach for one year.
But when her class Zirui fainted on the first day of school, when the children ate instant noodles as their main meal, when the words "Missing Mom" were quietly hidden in the corner of their homework books - she realized that what was needed here was not only knowledge, but also the courage to be seen and caught.
She uses "soul companions" to talk to them, and uses "cloud and airplane paintings" to give them a place where they can dream.
She is not a savior, just an ordinary teacher who stumbles between ideals and reality.
In ten years, she went from class teacher to principal, from guarding a lamp alone to lighting a lamp.
Children grow up, leave, and come back again—
Some people became teachers, some picked up cameras to record the countryside, some sweated on the court, and some returned to the wheat fields.
They said: "Teacher Sheng, you have given us a beam of light."
She said: "No, it was you who made me believe that the lights on the plains can last forever."
Purpose: Use education as a torch to demonstrate the power of rural education; grow in difficulties and let goodwill and hope flow in both directions; use ten years as evidence to write the ecological innovation of rural education in China.
