During an exchange at the British Museum, Chinese cultural relic restorer Chen Yu discovered that "Xiaoyu", a porcelain vase from the Southern Song Dynasty official kiln, could transform into a human form. Xiaoyu was eager to return home with the "family" cultural relics unearthed in Lin'an from the Southern Song Dynasty, such as the Guaner vase from Ge Kiln and the child's pillow from Ding kiln. Chen Yu was well aware of the practical dilemma of repatriation of ownership of cultural relics, so he instead verified the "family connection" of these cultural relics by combing through archives, publishing academic papers, and cooperating with experts to demonstrate, and aroused social concern. In the end, the British Museum displayed them together and set up a special exhibition hall to reunite foreign countries. Chinese and foreign museums also reached an intention to cooperate with the loan exhibition. Chen Yu continued to promote the work after returning to China. Although these cultural relics have not truly returned home, the expectation of returning home and the cultural connection have never been broken.
