"But Albus---how are you so sure the Dark Lord doesn't understand love?"
"I know TOM--that's the thing he despises--"
"Maybe someone loves him---"
"They are just temporarily bewitched - like drinking a love potion"
Snape was silent - he recalled seeing the Dark Lord applying to Dumbledore for the Defense Against the Dark Arts professorship in Voldemort's memory.
"Some magic," Dumbledore corrected him calmly, "some. But on others you are - with all due respect - woefully ignorant."
Voldemort smiled for the first time. It was a sneer, an evil expression, more terrifying than rage.
"The old argument," he said softly, "but, Dumbledore, I have seen nothing in the world that proves your famous statement that love is more powerful than my kind of magic."
It's a pity that you are wrong, Albus, you don't know the Dark Lord as well as you think you do...
