Introduction to the work
Astrophysicist Yi Yu has discovered a regular signal coming from deep space - it accurately reproduces his "cosmic language" theoretical model that was rejected by the academic community ten years ago. He calculated with horror that this was not a greeting, but a positioning beacon, and that the transmitter had stopped transmitting and was slowing down towards Earth. His warnings were derided by academics and the public alike around the world as paranoid fantasies.
However, that night, it all came true.
It is still a metaphor for being captured by an incomprehensible alien entity and placed in a strange space made of mutable matter that constantly mimics the surrounding environment. He was forced to become an "observer" and witnessed with his own eyes the last moments of human civilization: the arrival of the alien fleet, which showed a desperate adaptability - the moment any weapon comes into contact with them, its shell and even its body will "transform" into the nature of the attack, from the hardness of bullets to the plasma state of nuclear explosions, and then recover unscathed. Resistance is ruthlessly learned and absorbed, the earth is completely transformed, and landscapes and civilizations are reshaped into inhuman, flowing silver-gray geometric shapes.
The vast majority of human beings have been transformed, and a few, like Shi Yu, who have understood the warning, are retained as eternal "witnesses" suspended in the air. At the end of the first chapter, the Earth has fallen and it seems like everything is over.
But as Yiyu sinks into despair, an older, more secret whisper awakens deep in his consciousness (and perhaps in the Earth itself). It suggests that the alien "adapters" made a fatal mistake: their transformation inadvertently awakened a dormant anchor. The first crack quietly opened on the surface of the newly born silver-gray planet.
This is just the beginning.
