When we miss the past, we are actually retaining the time that has passed so quickly. Those old times that have disappeared carry our deepest memories. I often look down on my younger self, but I can't help but look back on that time so often, it's really puzzling. The past is the past, even if you recall it again, it will always stay in that moment.
Life is like a grand dance. The person who first leads you to the dance floor often cannot accompany you until the end. That understatement of "the days are long" actually made me witness the sadness of people leaving for a long time. I miss the past, not because I can't forget those people or things, but because I miss myself who once spent my youth wantonly.
Many of the troubles in life often stem from our overly sharp memories. Now we are living in the present, but we often miss the past. Is this a sign of maturity or a helpless choice? Memories, this road leading to the past, seems to have no end. Those springs we once had have disappeared in the long river of time. Miss those innocent years, when the future was far away and our hearts were pure and carefree. Wherever we are destined to arrive, no matter how long the night is, there will always be a bright light illuminating the way forward.
I once thought that those insurmountable days would last forever, but now I find that I can no longer go back to that past. At that time, we always naively thought that time was extremely long and that we had enough time to make amends and forgive. Youth, this word seems so thin, everything seems so light. However, as soon as the gentle wind blows, we all fly away and scatter to the end of the world. People are often immersed in memories of the past, not because those years were wonderful, but because they have disappeared and can no longer be traced.
The world is unpredictable, gentleness is blown away, familiar people are also blown away, leaving only endless thoughts. Time, this invisible pair of eyes, is sharper than what we can see with the naked eye. It allows us to see many hidden truths clearly. Perhaps, what we lose is not what we really own, but is a gift from fate that we must eventually take back.
