Introduction to the novel
On the honor list of Qingcheng Middle School, next to the commendation notice with gold letters on a red background, there is a crooked piece of draft paper nailed - it is full of out-of-the-box formulas and graffiti, hiding the entire summer of Lin Yu, a sophomore in high school (3), and Jiang Yubai, a transfer student. Lin Yu was the first in grade who was abducted by the "standard answer". The draft paper was folded squarely, and even the auxiliary lines were drawn with a ruler, making him a "young child of the Qing Dynasty" in the eyes of teachers and parents; Jiang Yubai was an "abnormal" who transferred to another school with a scar. He had comics and guitar picks in his schoolbag, and he had eccentric ideas for solving problems, with "unruly" written all over his body.
The two teenagers who were supposed to be parallel lines collided because of a misplaced desk. From the tit-for-tat confrontation in math class, to the sharing of secrets under the sycamore tree, to working side by side to complete a campus curation that subverts stereotypes, they tear apart each other's disguises - what Lin Yu is afraid of is not losing, but living like a copy in the eyes of others; what Jiang Yubai hides is not rebellion, but the tenderness and responsibility in the heart of a young man. When the "standard answer" meets the "wild path", when the chirping of cicadas hits the farewell whistle in midsummer, that piece of scratch paper becomes the hottest proof of youth: there is no standard answer to growing up, you are the only answer.
