Bitterhoney | Bitterhoney
This is a personal note about "expired sugar".
All stories begin with a kind of sweetness without impurities, like the first sip of ice-cold honey water in midsummer, burning all the way down the throat, scalding out the shape of youth. Then, it's time
Time turns honey into amber, pickles heartbeats into specimens, and dries "I love you" into bookmarks, which are sandwiched between pages that can never be opened again. It's still sweet, but there's a clear bitterness in the end note - like biting through a sugar-coated medicine, like reading the date written in pencil on the back of a love letter after many years.
