The Dahuang Dynasty was a dynasty in which women could serve as officials but could not marry on their own. Lin Qiwu, the legitimate daughter of the general who ruled the country, was known as "the most noble daughter in the capital", but she fell into the whirlpool of imperial power due to a political engagement. Feng Zhilan, the only female prince in the dynasty, holds great power but is aloof and arrogant, and is regarded as the biggest threat to the throne.
During an assassination attempt at a palace banquet, Qi Wu was injured while saving his life, and was taken into the palace by Zhi Lan to recuperate. Two women who should not have crossed paths gradually came to know each other amidst power struggles and life-and-death crises. Together they will face court intrigues, border wars, family pressure and ethical constraints, from mutual temptation to life and death support, and ultimately work side by side to rewrite the definition of women in this era.
