Xian Yangzhen's name was always at the top of his grade, as cold as ice, until Yan Yuheng was like an uninvited stone, shattering his formula-like and precise life.
Yan Yuheng always liked to poke his scratch pad with a pencil and laugh at him for making physics questions look like works of art. However, when he was questioned, he was the first to stand up and shake the wrong question book in his hand: "The steps written by Xian Yangzhen are cleaner than the standard answers."
From the adjacent names on the competition registration form, to the shared alcohol lamp in the laboratory, to the hot milk Yan Yuheng secretly stuffed into his schoolbag - Xian Yangzhen found that his scratch paper, which only recorded formulas and scores, began to appear with crooked smiles and "non-essential information" such as "Let's eat wontons at the end of the alley".
When the whole school was betting on whether the number one student in ten thousand years would be pulled off the altar, Xian Yangzhen looked at Yan Yuheng's burnt test tube in the physics experiment class and drew a simple drawing on the back of the test paper for the first time: a little man with a crooked neck, holding a sign that said "Come on".
It turned out that when the iceberg melted, it wasn't with a loud bang, but someone quietly put a toffee in between his calculations.
