When we first saw her, she was lying in a pool of blood on a rainy night, like a dying wild cat, her eyes full of vigilance. I opened her frozen world with a bowl of nondescript hot porridge.
Later, she would quietly curl up the corners of her mouth when I turned around, stiffen her body without pushing away when I applied medicine to her, and awkwardly say that sentence - "Wait until I come back."
I believed it.
So, I guarded our hut from afternoon to dusk, from moonrise to moonset.
Until the wooden box containing death was brought to me.
It turns out that I can't wait to return to my moon.
Purpose: To repay gratitude
