"Among the tombstones of civilization, you are the only one who is the proof of my existence."
Archaeologist Lin Su has a talent called "empathic touch" and can sense the emotions sleeping deep in cultural relics. In an accident, he came into contact with the last imprint of the star pattern civilization that existed thousands of years ago, and was forcibly bound as a "recorder" by a mysterious existence called "Civilization Archives".
His mission is to enter one copy of civilization that was frozen in the "last moment" one after another, witness their heroic or silent demise, and record the traces of their existence.
And his only companion is the guardian he awakened in the first copy - Qi, a mechanical AI from the Star Pattern Civilization, possessing perfect rationality and quiet power.
Kai is a weapon, a tool, and the guardian of the agreement.
Lin Su is the guide, the perceiver, and the recordkeeper selected by the archives.
They were supposed to be just cold symbiotic tools.
But in that silent city where their voices were completely deprived, they learned to replace words with a tacit understanding of fighting; in that torrent of data where logic and emotion polluted each other, they experienced life-for-life choices; in that terrifying sanatorium where the rules themselves became entities, they faced the ultimate question of order and freedom.
The first article of Qi's agreement reads: "Protecting the recorder Lin Su is the highest priority."
But when Lin Su stood in front of the seriously injured Qi Shen and said in a hoarse voice, "My agreement is: I will never abandon you," something that transcended all established procedures quietly sprouted between them.
This is not a story about saving the world.
This is the story of how a human and an AI changed from "tools and users" to "each other's only meaning" in the endless graveyard of civilization.
They walked through the silent elegy of the Melody clan, stared at the digital cemetery of the Bit survivors, and fought against the distorted rule of rule entities... Every mission is a questioning of the meaning of civilization; every life and death is a redefinition of "what is existence."
And under the starry sky dome of the archives, an even bigger shadow is floating:
What are those civilizations that "should not be recorded" that are sealed in closed areas?
What is the real purpose of collecting all this in the archives?
When the truth about the survival of all civilizations is slowly revealed, Lin Su and Qi Jiang discover that the connection they have established may itself be the prologue of a new civilization.
Purpose: To explore how, in the face of inevitable end and grand nothingness, the profound emotional connection between individuals can create meaning and new life that transcends the cycle of civilization and belongs exclusively to "us".
