In the midsummer of the second year of high school, the cicadas chirped noisily. Wild Rose, who had transferred from school, met the aloof and proud man on campus for the first time. One was cold and the other wild. Their personalities complemented each other, and there was no secret love. They got along easily and tacitly. They walked along the tree-lined avenue together and spent evening study sessions together. The cicadas chirped to record all the warmth of being together when they were young. The straightforward good feelings were hidden in every word and deed. It was the most dazzling scene in the green years. Later, due to the choice of further education, the two went to different careers and gradually broke off contact. They were separated for many years, and they were both happy, but they never forgot the time they spent with each other in the midsummer of that year. We met again many years later, during another summer when cicadas were chirping, and the familiar sound of cicadas brought back memories of youth. He was still the same cold person, but he was only gentle and accommodating to her; she was still the same warm wild rose, but she only let go of her sharpness towards him. We meet again after a long separation, but our hearts have not changed. The broken mirror of the past has been reunited. With the sound of cicadas as a guide, we continue to write about the unfinished companionship of our youth, from the green campus to the fireworks world, staying together for the rest of our lives with warmth and dependence.
