In the winter of 1937, Shanghai fell, and the French Concession became the last isolated island. Photographer Chen Jing'an just wants to record the truth with his camera, but is forced to reunite with his old friend Lu Mingcheng, who holds an important government position. One of the two used his camera to freeze the truth, and the other used his life to lay a hidden line. They guarded the dignity of the same land in different ways on the stormy island. When gunfire rang out at the pier, one fell in the morning light, and the other sailed on an unknown voyage, but what was recorded by the camera would eventually become a sound that penetrated time.
