Youth owes me a star
Beside my desk in the first year of high school, I encountered a heart-pounding scene. The boy with fair skin and veins on his wrists was the deskmate assigned by the teacher. We always pinched each other's arms to cheer up when we were sleepy. On summer nights when we played games side by side, I made a joke about myself, but he conscientiously comforted me, and the seeds of my heartbeat quietly sprouted.
After my ignorance of my liking was exposed, I confessed my love to him without any hesitation, and he nodded hesitantly and said, "Try it." The time spent at the same table after school started was full of embarrassment, but the hot soy milk during the rehearsal of the opening ceremony and the snacks quietly placed on the table during class gave me some expectations. Until I accidentally learned the truth - he promised me just because he was afraid that I would be sad. The brief companionship of 80 days ended in embarrassment with the head teacher's questioning and the laughter of the whole class.
In the year after we broke up, I silently watched his back playing basketball and diagonally in front of him during running exercises. This love affair was known to everyone, and I was like a clown. Until he suddenly came back and said that we were getting back together, the candied haws on New Year's Day was dazzlingly sweet, and the hands held in our pockets were warm in the cold winter. I thought all the hardships were over, but I discovered the truth that he had just let go of his ex-girlfriend. The answer "She is not in this city" and her ID photo became a thorn in my heart that I couldn't remove.
The difference in college entrance examination scores and an "accident" separated us, leaving only unbearable insults and dazzling photos. In the turbulent youth, I held on to those fragments of sweetness and pain, and then I slowly understood: It turns out that this grand encounter of youth ultimately owed me a star that only belongs to me and has never been shined for others.
